New project in the making

What shall we do with the foggy days?
Since we cannot work outside, we do some more renovations inside.

The smallest bedroom needs an overhaul.
Both walls and floor.
Most of the furniture were moved out the other day.
Today I tore off all lose wallpaper and J.P. started mudding and smoothing the corners.
Images for small bedroom ideas on Google
I searched high and low on the net for decoration ideas for small bedrooms and have two favourites. Too bad that hubby isn't in favour of stripes.
Stay tuned and you will see the result in a few weeks time.

Were did the years go?

Another Cake Day.

To celebrate time that has gone by.

So young - so full of dreams.
Some came true, others didn't.
Time seemed endless in those days.
Different continents opened up, new cultures and languages.
Countless experiences and adventures were mastered.
Lots of travelling done.
Precious moments,
happy ones,
and sad ones.
Losses -
made us realize how little time we actually have,
before everything becomes a memory in time.

The day calls for a soup!

Yesterday I sat for nearly two hours to get some footing of a humming bird on my video camera. The tiny bird arrived in intervals of 10 minutes and it stayed for about 3 - 4 seconds at the feeder to drink. That is barely enough time to hit the "record" button and get the camera going. There was no sunshine but I got several shots done. You can see a short clip here. At least he tries to get it in today......
Or try if mine works. It is about 1,5 MB big.

The day today called for a soup again. Grey and cool, that's the weather when I feel that we need something warm and comforting.
I raided the fridge and combined. A dish of rice on the side completed the whole.

Now I have to go out and cover my garden. There are thunderstorms in the forecast!

Curried Pasta Salad

Recuperating from our trip to Bath, NB the other day, I didn't feel for blogging at all. But as I know you all have had this phenomenon once in a while.

Pentecost is over us and the Island has come alive. Everywhere the summer houses are occupied, the Roosevelt Park is swamped with visitors, lots of traffic on the roads and the weather is playing along. Summer has finally arrived.
I didn't make a big fuss for dinner today. J.P. bought some pork ribs that he grilled, and we had a nice pasta salad to it.

Pasta salad: for 2
2 cups of pasta (enough for the salad and some leftover for lunch tomorrow)
1 celery, finely chopped
1 tomato, finely chopped
2 boiled eggs, 1 finely chopped, the other for decoration
2 tblsp fresh parsley
2 tblsp mustard
2 tbsp ketchup
2 tblsp white vinegar
1/4 tsp curry
garlic salt, pepper, sugar to taste

Boil pasta according to the directions on the package and add 2/3 of the amount into a bowl. Toss with the ingredients mentioned above and decorate with slices of boiled egg.
