Energy Bars with Lentils

Energy Bars with Lentils
The other day I run into an intriguing recipe: Lentil Energy Bars
I just had to try this. Of course I didn't have all of the ingredients, like rice syrup or chia seeds, but I did it my way. I gave it to J.P. to try and he said "MMH, tastes good." " Yes, it is made with cooked lentils ( which he hates)." " NO WAY!" 
"Yep, it is." So here you go:




Ingredients:
1 cup cooked lentils, drained and patted dry (don't cook them mushy!)
1 cup smooth or coarse peanut butter
3/4 cup honey (instead of rice syrup)
1 1/2 cups oats (took quick oats)
1/3 cup of chopped almonds
1 tbsp. chia seeds (didn't have that)
2 tbsp. mini chocolate chips
1 tbsp cocoa powder
In a bowl mix nuts, chocolate chips and cocoa powder.


In a sauce pan melt peanut butter and and honey over low heat. Bring to a boil. 










Take off the heat and fold in lentils and oats. 










Press mixture in a lightly greased form and chill for minimum 3 hours. 






Cut into bars and freeze.
The lentils take up all the chocolate flavour.


I will also try to use hazelnut butter next time instead of peanut butter. And walnuts and raisins instead of almonds.

Kürzlich habe ich ein Rezept für eine Art Energieriegel gefunden allerdings mit Linsen gemacht. Das hörte sich interessant an. J.P. mußte es dann probieren und ich hörte nur: "MMH, gut." "Da sind aber Linsen drin (die mag er nicht )". "Wirklich?"
Er hatte es nicht bemerkt.  Hier ist meine Version:
Zutaten:
1 Tasse gekochter Linsen, abgegossen und trocken getupft
1 Tasse grober oder feiner Erdnußbutter
3/4 Tasse Honig (statt Reissyrup)
1 1/2 Tasse Haferflocken, schnellkochende
1/3 Tasse Chia Samen (?) hatte ich nicht
2 Eßl Schokoladenchips
1 Eßl Kakaopulver
In einer Schüssel werden Nüsse, Schokoladenstücke und Kakao gemischt.
In einem kleinen Topf wird die Erdnußbutter und der Honig geschmolzen und kurz aufgekocht. Dann den Topf vom Herd nehmen und die Linsen und Haferflocken untermischen. In eine leicht gefettete Form pressen und mindestens 3 Stunden im Kühlschrank abkühlen lassen. Danach in Stücke schneiden und einfrieren.
Die Linsen nehmen den Schololadengeschmack an.
Nächstes Mal will ich es mit Nußnougatcreme, Rosinen und Walnüssen ausprobieren.
I forrige uke fant jeg en oppskrift av granola barer som er laget med linser. Det syntes spennende. Når gubben min, som ikke like linser i det hele tatt, prøvesmakte på det sa han bare: "MMH. de er god." "Men det er laget med linser". "Linser? Det smaker jeg ikke noe av." 
Ingredienser:
1 kopp kokte linser, avtørket 
1 kopp peanutsmør
3/4 kopp honning (isteden for rissirup)
1 1/2 kopp havregryn, lettkokte
1/3 kopp Chia frø (?), hadde jeg ikke
2 ss sjokolade, biter
1 ss kakao pulver
I en bolle bland nøtter, sjokoladebiter og kakaopulver
I en kjele melt peanøttsmør og honning. Kok massen opp for noen sekunder. 
Taes så fra varmen og fold linser og havregryn sammen med smøret. Fordel massen på bunnen av en lettoljet bakeform. Avkjøles for minst 3 timer i kjøleskapet. Skjær i passe biter og lagres frossen. Linsen smaker som sjokolade.
