Grilled Pork Ribs of the House.


Pork Ribs, Sweet Potatoes, Tomato/Cucumber Salad

J.P. was in charge today to cook the ribs. I was asked to produce the side dishes. We had guests too, a friend of us from PEI, who also winters here in the desert of California. I cooked sweet potato/carrot mash and made a cucumber/tomato salad. For desert: Coffee, vanilla ice cream and papaya sherbet.

Not too bad for living in dire conditions, eh?


Vanilla Ice Cream with Papaya


Gegrillte Schweinerippe nach Art des Hauses.
J. P. war heute Chefkoch und war verantwortlich für das Gelingen der Schweinerippchen. Meine Rolle in der Küche bestand darin für die Beilagen zu sorgen. Wir hatten unseren Freund von Prinz Edward Island zu Besuch eingeladen. Er verbringt wie wir seine Winter hier in der Wüste.
Es gab Süßkartoffel/Karottemus und Tomaten/Gurkensalat als Beilage.
Zum Nachtisch: Kaffee, Vanilleeis mit Papaya Sherbet.
Garnicht so schlecht für uns "Wüstenbewohner".


Hjemmelaget Grilled Svineribbe 
Gubben var sjefen på kjøkkenet idag. Han laget svineribbe med egen hjemmelaget saus. Jeg skulle lage noe attåt. Det ble søtpotet/gulrotmus og tomat/agurksalat i tillegg. 
Vi inviterte en av våre naboer, vennen fra Prins Edward Island som også tilbringer vinteren her i ørkenen. 
Som dessert: kaffe, vaniljeis og papaya sherbet.
Ikke så værst for oss "ørkenbeboere".
