The Season is officially opened!

What's up on this side of the country? Finally spring arrived and with that the season 2014 is officially opened.

This weekend the Roosevelt Campobello International Park is again open to the public. Admission is free. Check out the link to their website that shows a very nice, new layout for the occasion.

This year is special because
The Roosevelt Campobello International Park is celebrating its 50th anniversary!
1964 - 2014
Congratulations!

The weather was a bit on the chilly side when at 10 AM many inhabitants and business owners from the island as well as several guests and representatives of the foundation had gathered in front of the information centre.
Speeches were hold, the anthems sung and both the flags were heist.

Afterwards everyone piled inside to partake in the celebration with cake and coffee.
Now that that is done, let us hope that there will be many guests to welcome during a busy summer season!

Back to "normal". Rainy, cool, foggy.

What looked like the start of the summer was just a tease.
We are back to "normal", that is a cool, foggy, rainy type of weather.

I took some photos on Friday and on Sunday to show the difference.
The cormorant seems to live on the buoy.
It is always there when I walk by.
Also in foggy weather.
Eastport, seen a few days ago, in clear weather
Same view today, no view, fog.

Did someone tell the weather god that it is May and NOT September!
Spring is cool, but the trees are beginning to get green.
Finally.

But my veggies are growing indoors! :))
