This is the day

Or better: this is the date when we arrived in Calgary, Alberta as immigrants in Canada 12 years ago.
On the same day in May we celebrated our 15th anniversary.
We left Norway with only a "small" box and a few suitcases.
Checking in for Canada
Our first dining room was a set of patio furniture.
In June the we went on our first camping trip through the Rocky Mountains .
There met the first black bear
on our way to Peyto Lake.

Of course we went to the world famous Lake Louise.

We went all the way across the mountains to Vancouver, BC where we picked up our "box".
When we finally got hold of our possessions we felt like "Welcome to Canada".
A year later we got sweet little Molly.
We since have enjoyed this continent very much and travelled it extensively for the last 8 winters.

Mountains, Deserts or the Beaches. It is beautiful everywhere!
Happy double anniversary!

The Season is officially opened!

What's up on this side of the country? Finally spring arrived and with that the season 2014 is officially opened.

This weekend the Roosevelt Campobello International Park is again open to the public. Admission is free. Check out the link to their website that shows a very nice, new layout for the occasion.

This year is special because
The Roosevelt Campobello International Park is celebrating its 50th anniversary!

Congratulations!

The weather was a bit on the chilly side when at 10 AM many inhabitants and business owners from the island as well as several guests and representatives of the foundation had gathered in front of the information centre.
Speeches were hold, the anthems sung and both the flags were heist.

Afterwards everyone piled inside to partake in the celebration with cake and coffee.
Now that that is done, let us hope that there will be many guests to welcome during a busy summer season!
