Quick Pumpkin Supper

Our Halloween Pumpkin has done his job outside and moved into the kitchen today.
It was divided it in two halves; the goo and seeds scraped out.
Then the slices were baked unseasoned at 350° F for about 40 minutes.
Some of them I peeled and used today, the rest went into the freezer for future dishes.

A simple cheese sauce and rice.
Grilled chicken breast, apple slices, onion and pumpkin pieces. Seasoned with pumpkin spice.
That was the dinner of tonight!

See you in a fortnight!

Today's Outlook

Cold,
-1°C (30,2°F), but sunny.
I walked around the house and took some shots out of different windows.

View from the upper window towards north-west, Eastport, Me.
... towards south-west, foam caps on the water.
..east, the garden is now permanently in the shade of the large trees.
..view from my kitchen window. Just ignore that s&^# power pole!
Glowing red in the sunshine, rose bushes at the border of my garden.
First ice on the brackish water near Herring Cove Beach
Cold out here, but beautiful!

I went back in the afternoon when the tide was out again.
See the difference.

In the frozen air bubbles, pebbles and tang along the waters edge I think I saw ....

... a bird's face
:))

It's not hamburger meat!

Howling winds and no desire to go outside made me walk into the cooking department.
I found some colourful cookie photos and thought that I should give it a try. I could find my cookie forms otherwise I would have cut them into hearts.
After JP. came back from his photo tour we had a nice "cuppa" coffee and pink strawberry flavoured cookies.
You want one?
Maybe I will make green christmas tree cookies in December......
PS.
JP captured a ghost at the cliffs.
Do you SEE it too?
A SEA ghost.
if not keep scrolling....to the bottom

Wordless Wednesday, nearly

I picked up that idea of a wordless Wednesday. Here you are:
8: 15 AM ,   26,6°F  (-3°C)

Evidence of the first light frost around our house.
Later, 2 crows came to admire the colours on the rose bushes..
